The Canadian Emergency and Trauma Initiative in elders (CETIe) is led by two professors from the Université Laval, Quebec, Canada.

Marie-Josée Sirois, PhD

Ms. Marie-Josée Sirois is an occupational therapist and epidemiologist, as well as a professor in the Department of Rehabilitation of the Faculty of medicine at the Université Laval. She is a clinical researcher with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, at the Centre de Recherche du CHU de Québec – Université Laval, at the Centre de recherche sur les soins et les services de première ligne de l‘Université Laval (CERSSPL-UL) as well as at the Centre d’Excellence sur le Vieillissement de Québec (CEVQ). Dr. Sirois’ research program aims to maintain the mobility and functioning of frail seniors by improving their care in Emergency Departments (ED) and in the community. Her preferred methods are large clinical cohort studies, intervention trials, and the use of large administrative databases.

Marcel Emond, MD MSc FRCPC (EM)

Dr Marcel Émond is a certified emergency physician and has been in practice since 2004 at the level-1 trauma centre of the CHU de Québec- Hôpital Enfant-Jésus. He is a FRQ-S senior clinician scientist at the Centre de Recherche du CHU de Québec – Université Laval and the Centre de recherche sur les soins et les services de première ligne de l’Université Laval (CERSSPL-UL).
